'Flakartillerie Tätigkeitsabzeichen'

This second pattern badge consists of a roughly, 95 mm wide, elongated, horizontally oval Luftwaffe blue/grey wool base with the machine embroidered likeness of an 88 flak gun flanked by stylized wings, superimposed over an oak-leaf wreath with a swastika to the bottom center all in silver/grey threads.

Originally insignia for all personnel associated with the Flak Artillery, was introduced on October 28TH 1936 until replaced with a second pattern on July 23RD 1937 for qualified anti-aircraft artillery EM/NCO's. Requirement criteria for award of the badge indicated the personnel must have served at least nine months with the Flak arm.
